Media in the world today is often taken for granted. When we pick up a newspaper it is rare that we take the time to appreciate the full color photos that enhance the information we read. The fact is, these pictures make the newspapers and internet pages more attractive to the eye. Therefore pages are made to look interesting. On the other hand, too many images can make a simple page too complex. Large graphics and animated images can increase loading time dramatically, making pages more frustrating than fun. In theory, the World Wide Web will support any graphic data format available today. However, due to software availability, the formats have been limited to a few of the most popular and versatile. Fortunately there are many programs out there that convert files from one type to another.
